It's a rare sight to see Math in Motion! Every year students in Ms. Litten's Pre-Calculus class perform a pendulum swinging lab to see how harmonic motion produces a sinusoidal pattern. This is a great opportunity for students to learn all 8 standards for mathematical practice at once!
1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
4. Model with mathematics.
5. Use appropriate tools strategically.
6. Attend to precision.
7. Look for and make use of structure.
8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.

Students in Ms. Bailey's class are acting out Act II, Scene I, from 'A Raisin in the Sun' by Lorraine Hansberry. PCSSD is currently experiencing an internet outage that covers almost every school in the District. One of the main fiber lines was cut and caused the outage. AT&T has been notified and will fix the issue. However, we do not have an estimated duration for the outage other than that it will be "an extensive repair." We appreciate your patience.
