Life and Fitness classes participated in a Salsa and Chip Lab. They made salsa from scratch and used the air fryer to make chips out of tortilla shells. This was their first food lab and they were very excited about it. Everyone loved the salsa. The chips were devoured as soon as they were made.
Friday's AVID Transition Day was a hit! AVID 9th graders took focused notes about…Honors, Concurrent, AP, and their rigorous course options at the high school. AVID 10th graders brought in examples of work and facilitated/answered lots of fantastic questions about the courses they are currently enrolled in.

AVID in Action: AP Chemistry students collaborated to calculate "Enthalpies of Reactions" to determine if the reaction was Endothermic or Exothermic. After verifying their answer, the students created a poster with an Energy Diagram and summary of the reaction and calculations.
Students in our work programs (JAG and Business Internship) have an opportunity to get hands-on experience this year! These students are developing job skills & preparing for post-secondary education. What a great opportunity to work with employers, learn about different career paths & build a resume!

Ms. McPherson's students in Foundations of Healthcare, Principles of Sports Medicine, and Sports Medicine Injury Assessment are gaining hands-on experience in essential life-saving techniques.
They are learning to assess a scene for safety, form an initial impression of a patient, and use the “shout-tap-shout” sequence to check for responsiveness.
They are practicing CPR skills, including providing breaths and compressions as they prepare to earn certifications in adult and pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED.
We are excited to announce our 1st Semester Awards Assembly happening on Thursday, January 30th. All students on the Honor Roll & GPA Growth lists will be invited to attend at 10 am (11th and 12th grade) and 12:30pm (10th grade) in our Performing Arts Center. Parents and community members are invited to check our Facebook Feed for a LIVE event at both ceremonies.
