📚✨ The library has been buzzing with creativity and learning! 🐾 Our 7th graders explored Native American history for Heritage Month, diving deep into research about influential Native Americans. Meanwhile, 6th graders designed their own totem poles with animals that represent their unique stories. 🦉🐻 The highlight? Seeing a real-life totem pole from Mr. Hudgeons—it brought history to life! 🪶🎨 #SHMSLibraryAdventures #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth
SHMS students have been creating agamographs—amazing pieces of art that change depending on the angle you view them. Each student dedicated their agamograph to a family member or teacher who has served in the military, making this project even more personal and meaningful. These heartfelt tributes were displayed as a way to say “thank you” to our heroes.

Ms. Reimer’s General Music class showcased their creativity and teamwork by using AVID collaboration strategies to dive into the Renaissance period of music! 🎶✨ Students worked in groups to research and create posters about a characteristic, composer, or instrument from this fascinating era.
After presenting their posters, they completed a gallery walk, taking detailed notes on the information shared by their classmates. What an engaging way to learn and grow together! Great job, scholars! 🙌

Sylvan Hills Middle School transformed into an animated movie set for the much-anticipated Minion Day, sponsored by the Bears That Care Club.
