Sylvan Hills High students in the Arkansas Children's Academy of Biomedical Sciences earned their Stop the Bleed certification. Arkansas Children's Trauma Department led the training in which students learned critical life-saving skills, including wound pressure application, wound packing, and tourniquet use.
In partnership with Sylvan Hills High School, Arkansas Children's is proud to certify 108 students in life-saving techniques over the next month! This important collaboration empowers students with the skills to make a difference in emergency situations.

Mr. Pruitt's AP Stats classes are completing the Chi Sq Analysis, which helps determine if there's a statistically significant relationship between two categorical variables, indicating whether they are independent or associated. Sylvan Hills High won 3rd place at the 6A East Quiz Bowl Regional tournament! This one step toward competing in the Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl Association State Tournament next month. It is with great sadness to share the news that our beloved life skills teacher, Robin Dunlap, passed away this afternoon. Mrs. Dunlap has worked for PCSSD since 2002, first at Oakbrooke Elementary and then here at Sylvan Hills High for the past 8 years. She will be greatly missed by her Bear family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Dunlap's family.


Women's History Month, Female Author Spotlight: Last, but certainly not least, more than one teacher librarian selected YA fantasy writer, Tomi Adeyemi. Adeyemi's wildly popular Legacy of Orïsha trilogy was inspired by her study of West African mythology. #pcssdproud #serveall
