- Touching your mask
- Entering and leaving a public place
- Touching a surface that may be frequently touched by other people

SYLVAN HILLS ELEMENTARY 4th graders have been studying the potential & kinetic energy used to make roller coasters. They learned to use forces like gravity, inertia, & momentum to create their own roller coasters from paper plates, cups , & tape. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
November is Native American Heritage Month. Some well known inventions by Native Americans include anesthetics and topical pain relievers, corn, and kayaks. But some lesser known contributions include syringes, cable suspension bridges, hammocks, baby bottles, and mouthwash.
November is Child Safety Protection Month. There are some important steps to take to keep children safe outside like checking play areas to ensure lawn equipment, tools, or other yard items, like branches, are put away to prevent injury. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

November is Native American Heritage Month. President Ronald Reagan first proclaimed one week in November as "American Indian Week" in 1986. And in 1990, President George H.W. Bush was the first to designate November as "National American Indian Heritage Month."
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. This year's theme is Taking Care of Youth Who Have Diabetes. Tips include manage blood glucose levels, healthy habits, stay prepared for emergencies & seek mental health support if needed.

Sylvan Hills Elementary will pivot to virtual instruction for all students through November 24. Students will return to normal instructional platforms after the Thanksgiving break on Monday, November 30. All teachers will communicate with students through Schoology.
If you would like to receive a 7-day meal box, please call the school at 501-234-6355 on Friday 7am - 11am to make your request. The meal boxes will be available for pick up Monday, November 16 between 10am - 11am at the main entrance.
