2nd graders at Pine Forest visited the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock this week. There they learned about wetlands and animals native to Arkansas, and participated in a scavenger hunt around the center. Afterwards they enjoyed lunch and time together as a grade at the River Market Park.

Travis Hester, owner of Eat my Catfish, came up with the "Show and Tail" program to talk about crawfish facts, the farming and distribution process. Students were able to touch, hold and eat crawfish, if they wanted. What an exciting hands-on experience!
