Elementary schools in the Mills Feeder are participating in a challenge to encourage more students to read. Each student is reading “The Lemonade War” by Jacqueline Davies and tracking the amount of time they read. A winner is announced, based on the amount of time the elementary school reads, at the end of each week. The winning elementary school at the end of the nine weeks that spent the most time reading will receive a field trip from the Superintendent’s office.
Middle schools across Pulaski County Special School District have similarly been challenged by Superintendent McNulty and Assistant Superintendent Smith. The students can read any books the want, but must track the amount of time they are reading. The winning middle school at the end of the nine weeks will receive a field trip from the Superintendent’s office.
