PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Joe T. Robinson Elementary school has received $1,500 in funding to purchase items for an outdoor classroom.
"I'm extremely excited about this learning opportunity for student,” said principal, Dr. Taniesa Moore. “Our goal is to create an outdoor space that includes a small butterfly garden. We also plan to update our nature trail. Both projects will be used to explore life science, weather, scientific inquiry, and creative writing. Students will be involved in the design of the garden."
The grant was provided by a partnership between the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Arkansas Rural Development Commission, and the Department of Commerce Division of Rural Services. The grant money will be used to purchase various plants, portable marker boards, feeders, gardening supplies, and more.
