Arkansas Student Congress

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Along with 300 students across the state, Sylvan Hills High, Joe T. Robinson High, and Mills University Studies High scholars competed in the 56th Arkansas Communication and Theater Arts Association Student Congress on November 10-12.

Established in 1968, this event provides a unique opportunity for both high school (House) and college (Senate) students to simulate the representative democratic process at a state-wide level. Students participate in mock party caucuses, committees, and floor debates over student-written legislation. This year’s event took place at both Episcopal Collegiate School and the Arkansas State Capitol Building.
